How do I get my press release published on Marketingweb?
We welcome your press releases but do not automatically publish everything we are sent. We generally only use press releases in our “in brief” section that we feel are relevant and of interest to the wider marketing community. We also edit the press releases down to a few sentences to give our audience a quick read.
We receive over a thousand press releases each week, and only choose about 30 to publish.
- Please send press releases in the body of the email, not as attachments. It wastes precious time having to open attachments.
- Please do not phone or email to ask if we have used the press release. If we have, it can be found on the website. Otherwise we haven’t. Unfortunately, we just receive too many releases to enter into correspondence about each of them.
- We are unlikely to publish a press release that does not have a newsworthy angle but is pure self-promotion.
- Please don’t attach pictures bigger than 1MB.
- As we receive a vast amount of spam, we have strict spam filters on our emails, so please make sure you are clear and concise about the email content in the subject line, otherwise the email might not make it past the spam filters.
- Keep it short, around 300 words.
- If you’re not sure whether we would be interested in your client or your press release, please phone. It is much quicker for us to answer a query on the phone than to have to answer via email.
- And don’t forget to include all necessary contact details.
We are happy to publish opinion pieces and columns if they meet the following criteria:
- Marketingweb is given exclusivity i.e. it will not be published in any other marketing media in South Africa.
- It is well written.
- It is no more than 800 words.
- It is original and thought-provoking.
- It is relevant to our marketing audience.
