| job description: | Our client in the gaming industry is looking for a mature self-starter, who will be able to apply a base of theoretical knowledge, preferably gained via a recognised marketing and / or commercial qualification, and relevant Marketing experience (casino experience preferable). If you have what it takes then this job is for you. JOB DESCRIPTION: •The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing and monitoring the Casino Marketing Department. •This will incorporate Promotions and Entertainment, Relationship Marketing, Public and Guests Relations, Advertising, and Events. •This candidate will be responsible for the management of the property’s database and maintenance thereof. •The incumbent will manage all design work (internal, above and below the line), and importantly the branding and positioning of the property. •The incumbent will handle and oversee any special projects assigned either by the General Manager or Head Office Marketing Department. JOB REQUIREMENTS: •The candidate will need to be able to work with advertising agencies, Public Relations agencies, printers and repro houses and have an understanding of production and schedules. •It is essential that the candidate has a sound business and strategic orientation, high energy levels and strong negotiation skills. •He/she must be a ‘creative’ thinker and must have excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point), including the ability to write reports and submit proposals. Must be able to compile reports and present them to executive committees. PRE –REQUISITE FOR THE JOB •The ability to work with a multitude of disciplines, translate broad strategic goals into quarterly and annual marketing plans, which detail SWOT analyses, business objectives, promotion plans as well as communication strategies and implement these accordingly. •Experience in compiling and managing of annual budgets is essential. Creating exciting, appropriate and effective promotions and entertainment plans are key requirements of this position. •The candidate will need to display strong planning and organising skills as well as the related technical and professional knowledge. •The candidate needs to work successfully as a member of the top management team, and be able to manage a team of direct reports. •The candidate needs to be of the highest integrity and meet the licensing requirements of the Eastern Cape Gambling and Betting Board |
